2002-08-01 - 2:53 p.m. Local designer Toshi took me and Nora shopping this morning. DANGER! Good thing we only had an hour. We ended up at Dogstar in Fortitude Valley and picked up some super cute things for our photo in The Australian (I think) which was taken at noon. Lots of angles, buttons, changeable pieces. A bit like Japanese designer Akira's work. Very cool. I got a crazy skirt and a couple of tops, and Nora picked up this lovely purple sweater and some pinstripe pants. I had to leave behind a couple of very cute shirts... couldn't take home the whole store!! Down the block we spotted a pile of "City News" community papers, with the mug of yours truly plastered all over the front. Great big grin, and they even got my new favorite shoes in the shot. Nice bit about the pitchweb in there, by the guy I liked talking with so much the other day. I hear there's a good review of Monday's concert in the Courier-Mail as well, I'll get a link to that text soon as I can. Tonight we're set for another Cathedral Band concert with special guest Sulagna Basu. I feel much better, having somehow managed to ditch the cold - maybe I'm running too fast for it? Maybe that trombone and didj music was truly healing.
